Posted September 19, Hey all, so, I’ve just imported some midi drum beats into Logic9 but the drums are all at velocity For example, when repeating sections, moving arrange markers, or even when using the Marquee Tool to cut and copy areas of the song.

The beautiful thing about this is that the region stays perfectly in place, but is played later or earlier depending on your value internally. By clicking the Operate Only button, and your selected notes will be randomized by 10 ticks. Spent a lot of time perfecting a groove in the Piano Roll? Recorded an amazing Piano part or bass part? Simply find another region you want to quantize, select it, and choose the groove quantization you made. It retains the original part, and only moves similarly positioned notes.

This can also be done globally across an entire track. Now hover the track number on any tracks you want to apply the source quantization to and put a check in the box that appears. Note positions on the source star track will now dictate the positions on the ones with checks.

BCProject Posted May 5, Posted May 5, Ran into another head-scratcher: Editing MIDI drum parts – I selected a swatch of Hi-Hat notes and activated the velocity tool and tried to drag up – expecting the velocities of all the selected notes to scale up as I dragged.

What am I doing wrong?
 More sharing options David Nahmani Posted May 5, Posted June 21, Macbook Pro Retina 15, 2.

Highlight all the midi notes in the piano roll and Shift – Alt drag to one value I do it in the event list so I can see they’ve all moved together. Then I use Function – Transform – Humanize to randomise position and velocity from a common starting point. Audiogrocery Posted June 21, BCProject, I think David showed the best way with holding the Option key, but I can add that this method just override the problem giving you the chance to adjust the “inside” events which does not change the very low 0 range or the top range.

My Tip is: Select all the events say in the Piano Roll and open the hyper draw to have an overview of the selection i. Click and hold the mouse button on any note “velocity” event in the hyper draw. Hold the Command key.
