This is fine, especially for the “Pro” who might have a dedicated set-up to manage handling the larger orchestral stuff. I don’t make a living scoring film and so I can’t see the need to invest in an elaborate set-up so that I might use features, maybe, once or twice a month.

Still, DP 7 is very stable for me for the simple work that I do, especially when the software “instrumentation” is well within the 4 GB threshold. DP 8, now DP 8. My modest compositions are orchestral in nature. This is relatively small as compared to what the “Pros” might use. It manages my modest “larger” orchestral templets just fine all by itself!

Knock on wood! My only wish is that Logic Pro had some of the film-scoring features found in Digital Performer, like streamers and punches. But I can live without them just fine. Or use DP 8 for my simple film-scoring projects using much smaller instrumental templets. I really want to be able to use Digital Performer 8 and experience the same level of stability as when I use Logic Pro. It just ain’t there yet.
